The Dell President’s Day Sale is officially under way. This is usually one of Dell’s biggest sale events of the entire year, rivalling the discounts we see during Back to School and Black Friday, both of which are months away. Normally, this would be one of the best times to buy a Dell gaming PC or laptop during the first half of the year. This year, Dell has definitely put more of an emphasis on moving its gaming laptops. While the prebuilt gaming PC deals aren’t as prevalent, there are plenty of excellent deals on Alienware m-series and x-series laptops to be found.

For an extra $200 you can upgrade to an RTX 4070 GPU. On the processor side, you are limited to an Intel Core Ultra 7 155H processor, but at QHD+ resolution, most games will be GPU – not CPU – bound. That means that this laptop will be able to push higher framerates and/or higher settings than the RTX 4060 gaming laptop. For anyone who prioritizes gaming performance over all else, the $200 extra cost is justified.
