Rescuers comb through flash flood debris in search of survivors

At least 15 people are feared dead in fresh flash floods triggered by intense rain in Pakistan’s north-western region, that’s already reeling from last week’s devastating deluge.

An official said a sudden surge in water had submerged several houses and swept away residents in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province.

Heavy rains have also interrupted relief work in the region.

The number of people killed across Pakistan and Pakistani-administered Kashmir is now put at more than 330.

Emergency teams searching for the missing are struggling to remove mud and debris, as the BBC’s Azadeh Moshiri reports.
