Sam Fender calls out ticket prices ahead of 2027 tour sale

Sam Fender has said he has removed a ticket category from sale after being unhappy with pricing for his upcoming tour.

The 32-year-old announced his Proper Massive Stadium Tour earlier this week, which will visit Newcastle, Cardiff, London, Edinburgh, Dublin and Manchester in summer 2027.

While tickets are yet to go on sale, Fender responded to a post on social media which claimed to outline the expected ticket prices.

The Geordie musician now appears to have lowered the prices and said the “costs are astronomical compared to two years ago” but he could not control the venue or ticketing fees.

Tickets are due to go on general sale at 09:30 GMT on Friday, with a pre-sale at the same time on Wednesday.

Fender initially said he was “not happy” with the reported prices.

“They’re getting changed,” he said on Instagram.

“It got inflated well more than I’d had in mind, it should only be inflated in relation to the cost of putting the show on.”

The North Shields singer also said he did not want there to be an option for fans to pay more money to be closer to the front.

He later posted to his own Instagram story and said: “I’ve managed to get front standing tickets removed from the UK stadium tour.

“Whoever buys a standing ticket gets as much chance as anyone to be at the front.

“No more 120 quid standing tickets either.

“Costs are astronomical compared to two years ago, I can’t control the venue and ticketing fees, that’s a sad reality of today’s industry.”

General admission standing would be £85, Fender said.

Seated tickets would cost £95, £75 and £55, but those prices excluded venue and ticket company fees and the £1 ticket contribution to Live Trust, which supports grassroots venues, he said.

He is not the first musician to raise concerns over ticket pricing.

Zara Larsson agreed with fans earlier this year that her tickets were too expensive.

The Swedish singer said while she did not have control over the prices, she hoped she would in the future.
